- Helps to ensure the tightness of fasteners and aid in preventing them from loosening
- Relieves friction between fastener and fastening material
- Suitable for highly corrosive environments
- 316 Stainless Steel: Marine grade stainless (or SAE 316 stainless steel) is a corrosion resistant material for fasteners that contains approximately 16% to 18% chromium, and 10% to 14% nickle. It was built for the marine environment becasue of its greater resistance to pitting corrosion than other grades of stainless steel.
